Monday
Lately, my schedule and my goals have been destabilized by several factors. On one hand, the heatwave made me want to head into town in the very early afternoon, but at the same time, it slowed me down. Participating in the EMA study forced me to keep my phone with me, which is highly distracting. My menstrual cycle also affected my sleep, and I found myself going to bed at 3 or 4 a.m., cutting my sleep time short over the last few days. I am actually thinking about organizing this journal by menstrual cycle, though that might seem a bit absurd since I am likely in perimenopause. It feels a bit late to start tracking the cycle’s influence on my mood.
I have also been trying to implement the exercises recommended by Kim Anami. This is likely triggering a major psychological reorganization that is somewhat exhausting, even as I am truly beginning to grasp where she is going with this. In fact, I am even considering reorganizing my writing and my blog around this practice to provide a detailed testimonial. I am thinking of creating an entire section dedicated to this learning process. But how does this relate to my drawings? Will this influence my art? I think this simple routine and stats log is too limited to accommodate these experiments. In any case, the weather is supposed to cool down after this 36-degree heatwave, during which I just lay sweating in my tent, unable to really settle on one action or another. I did, however, have quite a bit of energy once I got up.
Tuesday
I woke up around 10:40 a.m. After watching Salma Hayek’s snake dance and her beauty routine on the Vogue channel, I almost convinced myself that I possessed the secret to eternal youth, and I started my day by conceiving a theory that a woman’s aging depends on three specific factors.
I think I’m going to try to give this journal more of a diary-like tone, rather than just writing cold reports a day late.
It is 10 p.m., and I am currently at McDonald’s. I got a sparkling water and a veggie ranch wrap. I’m still hungry. I’m doing much less sports than before and I have a sort of little muffin top developing on my stomach.
Another day where I will have done next to nothing except doing EMA observations, watching my ants live their lives as they fill their crops with my leftover compote; and doing my EMA observations. I barely earned any money except for a few dozen cents. The other factors that affected my productivity these past few days (continuing Monday’s entry) are that I had misplaced my phone charger, which I also use to charge the power banks. Consequently, I ran out of battery pretty quickly to work in my tent. Since it was 33 degrees in the tent, I tried going into town earlier, but every time I procrastinated on YouTube for hours while getting ready.
I should make a bulleted list:
- Doing a bit of cleaning
- throwing out the trash and the compost
- preparing my gym bag
- Serving a bowl of soup to the cat so he stays hydrated during the heatwave
- Getting lost for 20 minutes watching my ants
- sitting next to them to do a short ovarian breathing session
- Drying the 4 sleeping bags soaked in sweat in the sun
- Sweeping the whole tent to try to find the charger
- Reorganizing the cat’s corner in the tent
- Tidying up and renaming Kim’s files to find the “5 Tibetans”
I got home very late. My lack of incoming money is starting to feel concerning. I only fell asleep around 4:00 AM. I couldn’t really say what I was doing, probably something very useful and productive. I only sent the message with my accountability to the Baas coach around 2:30 AM.
Wednesday
Woke up around 9:15 AM, which means only 5 hours of sleep.
I clicked on a Microsoft study that involved coding with Copilot, then with Claude, and probably ChatGPT too. I was so slow with Copilot that I realized I would be timed out before even starting with Claude, so I preferred to cancel. Consequently, I lost out on a potential $14. I cried abundantly for a few minutes.
Nonetheless, the positive takeaway is that I ended up working for about an hour on coding right at breakfast. I coded an interaction between two insects who argue and move their arms when clicked on, using Tone.js and GSAP.
Afterward, I did my grocery shopping on Carrefour Drive. The reason I buy my groceries at Carrefour Drive is because I’m short on money at this time of the month, and I can pay with PayPal in 4 installments. I listened to a podcast of apostates criticizing Casus Lady’s book about freedom of expression. A dozen ants had drowned in the leftover water of my morning tofu, so I worked at rescuing them. I placed them on a tissue and misted the tissue or the ants directly with Evian water. I put applesauce next to them to attract their nestmates. Their presence stimulates them like nothing else. I watched them resurrect through the zoom of my Google Pixel 7.
Afterward, I wanted to undress and relax before commuting to the supermarket to collect my groceries. I did a breast massage with scented oil around 3:50 PM, followed by a cycle of ovarian breathing. But then, I think I stumbled upon two distressed ants lying unconscious at the bottom of a chickpea container while I was going out to dry my sleeping bags, so I went right back into rescue mode.
6:00 PM: Bike commute.
7:30 PM: Collected the groceries and bought matcha and decaf coffee sticks.
8:00 PM: I sat in a KFC to charge my laptop and power banks for an hour. Ordered some hot water and used the decaf coffee stick in it.
I got up from my seat at KFC at 9:31 PM. It was already late. I was fearing heavy rain because thunder had been forecast for tonight, but the rain turned out to be light. Once home, I didn’t do much. I only ate some bananas, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and posted my accountability log to my boss at BaaS.
Thursday
I woke up at 8:36 AM. It was snack day, the day I prepare my snacks for the week with the groceries I had brought back the day before. I prepared 12 little bags containing:
- raw nuts (pecans and walnuts)
- unsalted peanuts
- dark chocolate (80% dark this time)
- mini pumpernickel and jam sandwiches
- unsweetened applesauce
This time, I also bought decaf coffee sticks and matcha sticks. I hadn’t had decaf coffee in a long while. I then placed the bags in lockable metal boxes.
Since I still had my phone with me, I got caught up watching podcasts on YouTube while doing these tasks. I wanted to go to the gym afterwards, but I got caught up in other activities. I gave my cat a tin of wet food and watered the ants. I also sorted the trash. Then, I wanted to give some jam to the ants.
Unfortunately, two hours later, when I was seriously thinking about leaving and it was only 3:00 PM, I realized that many ants were stuck at the bottom of the mini 50g jam jar. I managed to save them by spreading them out on a tissue and misting them with Evian water. I watched them resurrect one by one. There were 17 of them. After three hours, only one was still not moving. Meanwhile, there was a distant thunderstorm and a few drops of rain. With all of this, I didn’t get to work until around 5:30 PM.
Friday
Friday was dedicated to the gym. I hadn’t worked out in about a week and I felt fat. When I pinched the back of my waist, I could feel pork rind. After the first half hour, my flexibility was back and I felt my muscles were finally waking up when I started using a stick while exercising my flexibility on the floor. I discovered that I can use a stick as a vertical anchor. It allows me to straighten my lower back while doing my splits. I am definitely going to adopt this technique, as it activates the upper body muscles while working on lower body flexibility. Before leaving, I did side planks, but completely forgot regular planks.
While on the mat, I received an important study on Prolific. It consisted of sending a page of my website and discussing with an AI expert in marketing, for which I got paid $13 instantly.
I came straight home after the gym at 10 PM and must have spent the evening watching videos on my phone.
I had only slept for 4 hours the previous night, which probably explains the lack of physical strength.
Nonetheless, my mind felt perfectly clear all day long, as if I had slept a full night’s sleep.
Saturday
My batteries were charged. I didn’t go into town and I stayed inside my tent all day long. I hadn’t done my yoni exercises and meditation in a while, so I wanted to put them first for that day. But I ended up watching the entire Module 1 of Kim Anami’s program instead of practicing. It took me about 4 hours. I took a few notes. There was also some journaling to do. The rest of my day was unproductive. It was a terribly unproductive day because I had my phone with me most of the time. I went to take the phone out of its prison around 10 PM and watched videos on YouTube until 2 AM.
Sunday
On Sunday, I finally did all the exercises recommended by Kim for Module 1. Starting around 3:30 PM, I did the breast massage, the ovarian breathing, the Kegel exercises with the yoni egg, and the visualization for growth—which actually belongs to a later module but I find effective. I also did the 5 Tibetans and finished with a Law of Attraction ritual by Christie Sheldon with the goal of manifesting clients at $40/h. After that, it was close to 6 PM and I went into town to recharge my electrical devices.
