2026-18 | April 27-May 3

Summary

  • Started BaaS accountability coaching, forcing early wake-ups to secure 2 hours of creative work and daily blog editing.
  • Dealt with heavy fatigue from a rough 4.5-hour night and a few junk food slip-ups (Snickers, fast food).
  • Secured steady $40–$50 daily earnings on AI gigs/Prolific, a great Vinted clothing haul, and got back into watercolor.

Monday

I subscribed to Boss as a Service. I earned 40 dollars. Since I block access to my computer after 1 AM with Cold Turkey Blocker, I went to sleep around 1 AM. I set my alarm for 6:45 AM to do the work defined with BaaS.I worked on this storyboard created from a video of a graphic designer who posts her vlog. I am studying the structure of her videos. I noticed that there is often a new shot every four seconds. Consequently, there is a lot of work involved in filming and editing.

Yesterday, I did a meditation session and other exercises. This takes me a considerable amount of time, from 3 PM to 6 PM. Therefore, my workout session was shortened. The work I defined with BaaS, for which I want to be coached, is editing this blog every day and drawing every day—but “drawing” also includes creating storyboards, filming, and posting on Instagram.

Tuesday

As a consequence of signing up for this service, I got up earlier on Tuesday to do the work agreed upon with BaaS, namely 2 hours of creative visual work and editing my blog every day. I earned a total of $50 with the AI gig—35 in the morning and 15 in the evening. In between the two, I took a nap, went to pick up a parcel, and did some grocery shopping far away at Carrefour. I noticed that it’s expensive. I went to recharge my batteries at KFC for a change (next to the Carrefour). I ate a bit of whatever: white baguette, Snickers, strawberry sundae… I did about 24 km of cycling.

Sleep: 7

Nutrition:

Exercise: bike 22km

Meditation: 0

Creative Work: 1.5 hrs (story board)

I study Fran Meneses’ videos by storyboarding her latest vlog episode.
I do this work upon waking up and post a screenshot to BaaS.
I had a BaaS onboarding video meeting in the afternoon.
I went to pick up a package left at the post office (poste restante). I paid €6.11.
I managed to earn $25.
I went grocery shopping at Aldi. It’s much cheaper. Pomelo at €0.69 when you pay €1.20 elsewhere, 500g of blueberries at €4.49 while it’s €3.99 for 125g at Carrefour…

Thursday

Mood: 7.8 | Sleep: 4.5 | Exercise: 0 | Meditation: 0

Since I started using the BaaS service, I’ve been setting my alarm whenever I can to work in the morning before my paid workday, because the “Boss” checks my completed to-dos from the previous day. Having set this up on the first day, I said I’d post the proofs the next morning before 9 AM. That first day, I managed to wake up around 6:20 AM. Since then, the wake-up time has been shifting later and later every day, but the result is there: I do about 2 hours of artistic work every morning and I edit my blog every day. I didn’t leave my tent all day. I was so tired after a night of only 4.5 hours. I had a coffee the previous day around 6:30 PM, which is why I didn’t fall asleep until 2:30 AM.

Friday

Mood: 7.8 | Coffee: 2 | Sleep: 7h

Food & Sugar: Pear tart, dark chocolate, Veggie Whopper, Sugar-free Fanta

Exercise: Bike (10 km) | Meditation: 0 | Creative Work: Character design

Financials: Earned $42 | Spent €25

I got caught off guard by May 1st. I didn’t realize it was already the first of May, and since I hadn’t washed in three days, it became my fourth day without a shower. It doesn’t change much; I tie back my greasy hair by smoothing it down, change my underwear, put on a bit of cologne, and no one seems to notice anything.

I started the day with two hours of drawing. It’s true that in the first few minutes, the motivation wasn’t there. I kept telling myself I couldn’t do it because all I have to express is depression, actually. But very quickly, I got into the flow. I then went into town and arrived at BK around 11:40 a.m., and I managed to earn 42 dollars in total during the day. I went to the grocery store before returning quite early; I was in my tent by 6:50 p.m. and went to bed at midnight because I set Cold Turkey from midnight to 4 a.m.

Saturday

Saturday morning, I got up quite early and spent time drawing. I also picked up watercolor painting again, something I hadn’t touched for months—probably not since last summer. Afterward, I let Gemini do a coloring of my drawing. This kept me busy all morning.

In the early afternoon, I lingered in my tent long enough to earn $15 on Prolific while browsing the internet and doing more chatting with Gemini. I headed to the gym too late to actually work out, since they close at 7:00 PM. I just took a shower and tried on a bunch of clothes recently bought on Vinted: silhouettes that offer alternatives to my usual knee-length dresses or tunic-and-legging combo.

  • A short black cotton dress with a triple row of ruffles, a smocked back and a big cotton flower on the chest, from Rinascimento. This type of straight bustier is a huge discovery for enhancing my flat chest. The ruffles make my legs look longer and the bustier makes my chest look athletic. I’d wear it with a legging and without a bra as the fabric is very thick and covering. I’ll try to find other pieces with the same structure. Funny enough, I’ve been a follower of several influencers who wear these short dresses almost exclusively: Talia Fuhrman and Maren Altman, and I think they are both petite 5’4s like me,
  • A sleeveless top, long in the back and shorter in the front, in double-layered salmon crepe voile with a butterfly and floral print on the front and a long black zipper for a vaporous 2010-2012 revival,
  • a synthetic white bolero with a large rose lace triangular insert on the back centre, looking brand new,
  • a pale mint very long tank top with lace trim
  • a long black velvet skirt in a vintage ’80s style, alternating between smooth and pleated velvet bands. It reminds me of this humorist Zouk or people I met in my early childhood.
  • I also bought a good quality flowy, quite large midnight blue velvet camisole with velvet trim and adjustable straps, but I didn’t bring it to the gym as I didn’t feel the need to verify the fitting.

I prepared my double espresso for the next morning along with a superfood powder soup. This blend contains mushroom powders—Chaga, Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane, Reishi, and Shiitake—as well as nettle, parsley, maca, and dried wild mushroom pieces (porcini, black trumpets, etc.). Today was actually my first time trying the Chaga and Cordyceps. I ordered it recently, trying Amoseeds.

Afterward, I went grocery shopping at the supermarket next to the gym for my snack ingredients (more on that later), strawberries, a mango, arugula and baby greens, and finished the evening at Burger King. I was so hungry that I ordered a Louisiana Veggie Wrap in a meal, with sugar free sprite and baby carrots. Since I hadn’t been able to shower since Tuesday—due to being busy and then caught off guard by the May 1st closures—it felt wonderful to feel clean again. I was wearing the long, black velvet skirt; because it’s quite heavy, the skirt is very practical for cycling as it doesn’t ride up the legs while pedaling. I paired it powith a thin brown varsity jacket that cinches at the waist, reinventing the 90’s artsy Parisian look with this pairing —subtly enough, but unmistakable for the discerning eye. I managed to earn a total of $40: $15 in the afternoon and $25 in the evening at BK. I fell asleep rather early because I blocked my laptops at midnight with Frozen Turkey (the option to freeze the laptop with the Cold Turkey app).

Illustration for my Saturday, May 2nd blog entry that deals mainly with my discipline as an artist living in the woods, focus on my fashion style composed of vintage pieces found on Vinted that remind me of my childhood in the 80s or of cheap market fashion, and containing notes on my tent-based approach of Joel Fuhrman's nutritarianism. The illustration in warm red and brown earthy volcanic tones is a mixed-media watercolor painting colorised by Gemini, based on my early morning drawing. It features a surreal landscape with cone-like mountains, fruit-inspired infrastructures and a secret society of ants.

Saturday’s visual landscape: a surrealist interpretation of my Nutritarian morning, my 80s-inspired vintage finds, and the necessary discipline of my tent-life in the woods. Watercolor based on my morning sketch, colorized with Gemini
